01 — The new Act

Have you re-registered under the new Act?

If you found the constitution rebuild confusing, time-consuming, or harder than it should have been — you're in good company.

In our research with over 100 NZ clubs and societies, the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022 was the single most cited source of governance frustration. Templates were slow to arrive. National bodies were slower still. Volunteer committees were left to interpret legislation written for organisations ten times their size.

That's the part of governance we want to make easier — not by telling you to work harder, but by giving you tools that take the weight off.

02 — The conference

Society Governance:
Tips, Tools & Essentials

A live online conference for boards and committees of incorporated societies, clubs, and not-for-profits.

Six practical sessions delivered by senior governance figures and sector leaders. Designed for the realities of volunteer-led organisations: limited time, modest budgets, real obligations.

Every session ends with concrete tools and templates you can take back to your next committee meeting.

Speakers

Hon. Mark Mitchell MP · Hon. Judith Collins MP · Richard Chandler (Chandler Institute of Governance) · Terry Ray (President, Clubs New Zealand) · Angus Ogilvie (President, Governance NZ) · Daniel Kovacevic (VP, Dalmatian Cultural Society) · Dr Pete Mazany (ClubGov)

03 — Why ClubGov

Built for the people who actually run societies.

There are tools for enterprise boards. There are tools for project teams. There is nothing built specifically for the 27,000 incorporated societies in New Zealand — most of which are run by volunteers, on weekends, with spreadsheets and personal Gmail accounts.

ClubGov is changing that. We're building the platform we wish we'd had when we were on committees ourselves: simple, modular, designed around the rhythms of a volunteer organisation, and honest about the fact that no two societies are the same.

01

Built with you, not for you

Every feature comes from a real conversation with a real committee. We don't assume — we ask, we listen, and we build what actually helps.

02

Modular by design

Use the parts you need, when you need them. Start with member records or meeting minutes, add more as you grow.

03

Honest about cost

Priced for volunteer organisations, not enterprises. Transparent monthly subscription. No surprises.

04 — The platform

Six modules, designed to make committee work simpler.

Each module solves a specific, real problem. You activate the ones you need. The others stay out of your way.

Member Records

A permanent register of every member. Survives committee handovers. Replaces spreadsheets and personal laptops.

Document Library

Every constitution, policy, minute, and resolution — in one searchable place. No more "who has the latest version?"

Meetings & Minutes

Structured minutes with motions, movers, seconders, and resolutions captured properly. Search past decisions in plain English.

Officer Handover

When someone steps down, their replacement opens the platform and sees everything they need. No three-month bank account transfers.

Compliance Calendar

AGMs, annual returns, insurance renewals — automatically tracked. The platform reminds you before deadlines slip.

Disputes & HR

A structured, private way to handle warnings, complaints, and conflicts of interest. Designed with the new Act's requirements in mind.

Capability

AI-assisted where it genuinely helps.

Meeting minutes drafted automatically from a recording. Documents indexed and summarised on upload. Plain-English search across years of committee history. We use AI where it removes work for volunteers — not as a gimmick.

Trust

Built and hosted in New Zealand.

Your data stays on Auckland servers (AWS ap-southeast-6). Role-based access, full audit trail, member records never deleted. Designed to ISO 27001 principles from day one.

05 — Shape it

Help shape what we build.

Three minutes. Ten questions. Your answers directly shape what gets built first — and we'll send you a summary of what we hear from the wider community.

We're not asking for sign-up. We're asking for input. If you run a club, society, or community organisation in New Zealand, your perspective is exactly what we need to build something genuinely useful.

In return

You'll be the first to know when we launch, you'll get an invitation to the early-access beta, and you'll receive our community report on what NZ societies actually need from a governance platform.

2. How many members?
5. Of the six modules, which would help your committee MOST? (choose up to 3)
7. What does your committee currently use?
9. Would you pay separately for advisory help with the new Act?
10. Stay in touch

We'll never sell your information. You'll only hear from us about ClubGov.

Two ways to get involved.

Whether you want to attend the conference or help us shape the platform — both move us forward.
